Prom is coming up and Clayton has finally decided to go on his first date. We came up with a lot of different ways that he could ask the girl and finally settled on a block puzzle. Clayton painted them the pretty pink and I decorated them. We then put them in a box that looked like a bigger cube and wrapped it in brown paper. On the outside of the box we wrote the date of prom so she would know what was going on. Guess we will let you know her answer as soon as we hear. Let's hope for a yes so we don't have to come up with another idea.

Snow Caves
We have not had any huge snow storms but Daren has been piling the snow for Makay. He really wanted to build a snow fort. Saturday brought nice weather and a big enough pile so Clayton and Makay went to work digging a hole. Since there was no school on Monday they again finished working on their snow fort. Makay came in and declared that it was amazing what you could do with a little bit of snow and a shovel.
Chapter 2 EYE TO EYE

When Ranell, our oldest daughter was a little over a year old, she fell on a bolt that went into her head right next to her eye. I rushed her to the doctor's office, where the doctor asked me, a young mother, to hold my daughter's head still while he proceeded to stitch her up. She, of course, was scared and upset. I tried my best to hold her but I was upset also. Afterwards I was furious with this doctor. I could not believe that he had required this of me. After a few years I came to realize that it was something I could handle. The Lord gives us challenges and trials, but nothing more than we can handle. Sometimes it takes hindsight for us to realize that we are really capable of handling all that the Lord gives us.

Bumps and Bruises

Running Over My Husband
After being married for only a couple of months, Daren and I were towing a car home. There was a problem with the car hood and we pulled off the side of the road. While Daren was in front of the car trying to make the repair I remember looking in the rearview mirro and seeing a car come over the hill at a pretty good speed. I knew that they were going to hit us so I put my foot on the brake pedal and pushed down as hard as I could. The car hit the rear end of our car, which then hit Daren and threw him into the gutter of the road. The other driver was a young college student with no insurance who was paying more attention to the girl in the seat beside him than to the road. Daren luckily was not seriously injured but was laid up for a time. I was so scared as we took him to the hospital. I could not believe that even though we had only been married for a short time it could have ended that night. When we were sealed our sealer told us that the love we had on our wedding day would grow beyond what we could comprehend. At the time I remember thinking that I could not love him more, but in those short months my love had grown a ton. Now as many years have passed I look back on the day and I really don't think that I knew what eternal love really was. Daren especially likes to tell this story and he is the one who actually gets the credit for the title because he loves to tell people that I tried to run over him.
I was thinking that this week had been crazy but then when I sat down to type I realized that it had actually been pretty calm. Clayton has gone to a couple of the girl's district games which did put a kink in our FHE plans to go the museum. He also fell on the ice and pulled a muscle in his upper thigh on, of course, his sore leg. We did go to a wrestling match because I am having withdrawls. Today we went to my nephew Joshua's baby blessing. They had a little girl the end of December. Camilla Elise Terry is absolutely adorable. Makes me miss my Justin even more. The bishop of Joshua's ward is Daren's friend from High School. I think he was a little nervous to have his past sitting in the audience. No secrets were shared.

Here is my attempt at a blog. Not sure that I will be as creative as Penny but I am going to try. I have been working on a book of short stories of sort so since I don't have a missionary or a wrestler or anything like that I am going to start with one of these and then I would like input back on these.
