Laren G. Terry, 70, passed away suddenly from an apparent heart attack where he worked at Basic American Foods.
Laren was born Nov. 8, 1940, in Egin, Idaho, the son of George Francis and Irene Grover Terry. He grew up in the Egin area, attending Egin, Plano and Parker schools, and graduating from Sugar-Salem High School.
He married Verla Kay Rose on July 2, 1960, in St. Anthony. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Idaho Falls, Egin, South Dakota and in Parker for the past 42 years.
Laren worked as an electrician and for Basic American Foods for over 20 years. He enjoyed lapidary (rock polishing), hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Verla of Parker; children, Leisa Kae (Kade) Munns, Val (Nora) Terry and Layne J. (Valeen) Terry, all of Parker, and Daren G. (Vonell) Terry of Terreton, Idaho; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Blair Terry of Dixie, Ariz., Joyce Jackson of Parker, Idaho, and Lucretia Davis of Texas.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Boyd and LaDell Terry, and a granddaughter, Tiffany Munns.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, in the Parker 2nd LDS Ward building, with Bishop Brent Williams officiating. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 15, at the Parker Church, and again one hour prior to the services Saturday. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bidwell Funeral Home.
